This is going to be just a quickie post for now. It’s Wednesday, which means it’s my personal Tuesday and there is quite a lot on my plate left over from the first day of the week. Not the least of which is creating a bespoke perfume for a lovely perfumista from Quebec this afternoon. I met her yesterday and she was so enchanted by the fact that she could have her own perfume created she had to come back. She said that she had always dreamed that there were perfumers out there who would work with an individual but that she hadn’t ever met one and that this would be a dream come true. (I think this makes her a dream client for any bespoke perfumer and I consider myself lucky to be the one who will fulfill a dream).
Now, while I’m on the subject of luck, we have six lucky winners! 🙂 And WOW! Thank you everyone who participated in the draw. It’s my first one and I can’t tell you how exciting it was for me to hear your comments and ‘meet’ so many new people. I’ll have to come up with something good for the next one (any suggestions?). In the meantime, here’s the list of the lucky winners: (your names were pulled at random from a bowl, old school style, at midnight by my husband, E.)
winners of the Secrets of Egypt sample sets:
*AnnYM
*Christine (RHM)
*Alison
*JoanElaine
*Margaret
And the winner of the “1,000 Lilies Flappers and Pharaohs Presentation” is:
* Angela Cohen
Please email me (dsh@dshperfumes.com) with your addresses and I’ll get your goodies out to you. I hope you’ll all enjoy these new designs and feel like you can walk like an egyptian or maybe feel like Cleopatra.
Congratulations to the winners! A drawing that includes one of your rose perfumes would be amazing (I’m on a serious rose kick, so this is a selfish request).
Still, you have formulated some beauties and could choose what you feel is the most seasonally appropriate rose. Just a thought.
Hi Josephine~
I love your thought of a rose giveaway… hmmm. I’m going to give that some thought, as to which ones to do. Maybe a rose sampler…? 🙂 I like it. stay tuned…
ME Margaret? I hope you don’t mean some OTHER Margaret! Oh, I am so, so, so, so excited! I have to have surgery on my knee this Wednesday, July 28 so everything is making me crabby.
But I won! Yay! Life is not so bad, is it? 😀
Thank you, Dawn. Love you tons.
P.S. My husband lived in Cairo for many months. I am curious to get his reaction to these scents.
🙂 Yep: YOU! You won! I am sorry to hear about your knee but this should make a little bright spot for you. I hope that it all goes well and you have a super speedy recovery. And I hope that you and your hubby enjoy the samples! I’ll look forward to hearing your responses… BIG HUGS & <3, Dawn
Oh yes, I will second the request for sampler set giveaways. Just think of the different themes you could do – scents organized by season, or historical inspiration, or a specific mood, or a particular fragrance note…. You have such a huge selection, it would give ideas of where to start not only for the winner, but everyone who reads your blog.
And congrats to the winners! I didn’t enter because it felt a bit to greedy to say, “Oooh, me too!” when I just won the highly coveted Musk Eau Natural, which I’m over the moon excited about.
Hi Dionne! 🙂 Thank you for the great suggestions! Since I am so new to blogging, it’s enormously helpful to hear your thoughts…please keep them coming. And BTW, your Musk Eau Natural is on the way so I hope that it arrives soon and that you will love it!
Congratulations to all the winners!
I am so excited! THANK YOU!!!!
The rose sampler is a great idea. Dawn’s roses scents are my very favorite roses: American Beauty is my #1 rose scent, but I LOVE Parfume de Grasse too. Have both, wear both. Probably wear American Beauty more day to day & save PdG for “special” occasions.
Love them!
Thank you again, Dawn!
🙂 You’re so welcome Christine! Your sampler is on the way! I will have to start brainstorming the rose sampler and a giveaway… stay tuned! ox, Dawn
WOW! I am so excited! Thank you! I am very excited to try your perfumes.
Oh dear! My comment disappeared! Allow me to repest myself…WOW I won! I am very excited! Thank you! What’s interesting is that I have been reading the novel Gazelle by Rikki Ducornet, which takes place in Egypt and there is a perfumer character who makes Susinum!
Hi Joan! 🙂
Your sample set id on the way — I hope it lives up to your imagined Susinon ( Susinum – I found two spellings for it)! How cool that you are reading a book that mentions it. Perfect timing, I’d say. 😉
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
~Dawn
Hi Dawn,
The sample set arrived today! What are great way to end my workday Monday!
I want to take my time trying all these. To me these perfumes are not scents you just slap on and go…these are works of art!
Right now I am wearing Arome d’Egypte and I love it. It really “sings” on my skin. Thank you so much!
Hi, JoanElaine! 🙂 I am so happy that the samples arrived safely and that the scents are “singing” on you! I look forward to hearing how the others work for you and your thoughts about the collection as you wear them…
Have a great week! ~Dawn
Hi Dawn,
I am so impressed by your fragrances! And I love the idea of a Rose draw! I am really enjoying your Egyptian samples. Can’t wait to try more. On a sombre note, this blog is hard to read with the black backgroung! Any chance for a color update? I know you like Orange…..
Hi again~
I’m trying a new look for the blog… what do you think? I’m still considering the overall look and feel of teh blog so I am glad to hear feedback about how it is to read, look at etc.
~cheers!
The new look is great. Much easier on the peepers!
